World Famous in New Zealand...

A few weeks ago I became a stalker.

Albeit a semi-unsuccessful one, but still.

I got a txt in the morning from a guy who is here for a four week placement from England. The txt read "Apparently the All Blacks are at the Mount for training, want to stalk them with me?"

For those of you who don't know(aka no one out of NZ or Australia), the All Blacks are our rugby team, and they are a pretty huge deal in NZ, we are obsessed. So naturally I said sure thing. We really did not plan out our stalking, in retrospect we should have done more research, maybe found out exactly where they were going to be. Instead we drove around aimlessly for a while, peering onto rugby fields at the of chance they were training there. We walked up and down the beach for a bit, you know, just in case. Then we gave up and grabbed a coffee instead.

We had been at the Mount about four hours now, so we decided to give up and go pick up my sister from work. As we were leaving, I suggested we do a quick drive by of the beach as one last attempt to stalk. So we did, and guess who was casually doing stretches on the beach. The All Blacks! So we awkwardly hovered until they had finished their training, then got some photos with our favourites...

(I obviously took this photo. Which in retrospect I regret. It is Dan Carter after all, shoulda found a random)

And there it is. Our excitement over meeting some famous (in New Zealand) people.

It was pretty enjoyable, and if I do say so myself, I may have a career ahead of me as a professional stalker...

Disney Update!

I mean... What?!
Holy friggin crap you guys.
And this app is counting down to my Disney check-in. In reality I leave in 44 days. Argh.

I'm not even sure what to say. Everytime I think about it, I feel like peeing. Just a little.
Things are coming together so quickly. I have my visa, I have paid my program fee, I have most my documents organised. I am still putting off paying for medical insurance, I'm holding on to the illusion of having that extra grand in my bank account. A little closer to the time we will get our housing information. Those that are requesting roommates can organise them, and those that are leaving it up to the universe (i.e me) can sit back and relax!

Now 44 days may still seem like quite a long time. So let me put it this way for you.
5 Weeks.

5 Weeks....
I have 4 more weeks at work, then one week of packing and farewells, and that is it. THAT'S IT!
Then I will be jet-setting off across the world, probably bawling my eyes out, and feeling like throwing up. But also a bundle of excitement. Because that's how I do.

A Whole Lot of Nothing...

So again, I come back for a few posts, then disappear again. I'm sorry for teasing you all.

I have no excuses really, well, I got a second job. Does that count? I have gone from working 2 days a week to 5 or 6. So that's something.

Other than that I have just been hanging out, sleeping some, we finally won a game of netball last week, I also took another pretty huge Disney step, but a post will follow with those details!

(An unrelated but amusing photo. Hanging out with my siblings, eating cereal, the usual)

It's was a long weekend here in New Zealand this week. I was supposed to have three days off, but unfortunately I got called in tomorrow. It means more money for Disney, and every little bit counts, but as soon as my phone rang I swore internally! So for the next 2 weeks I will be working 6 days a week. In retail. Argh.

That is all...
